Martin Atkins

Martin Atkins is an influential English musician, drummer, and music producer, primarily known for his work in the post-punk and industrial rock genres. Born on November 3, 1960, in Birmingham, England, he gained prominence as the drummer for the seminal band PiL (Public Image Ltd.), which was formed by former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon. Atkins played on the band's landmark albums, including "Metal Box" (1979) and "Flowers of Romance" (1981). In addition to PiL, Atkins has collaborated with various artists and bands, including Killing Joke, Ministry, and Nine Inch Nails. He is also recognized for his role in the band Pigface, which he co-founded in 1990, known for its rotating lineup of musicians and a fusion of industrial, rock, and electronic sounds. Atkins has made a significant impact on music through his innovative approach to drumming and sound, as well as his contributions to the underground music scene.
